CMSL RDC-1 M-410
If you own an Aristo RDC-1 you've probably noticed that the chains at the doorways are "strung" too tight. These chains should have a "drape" as seen in this picture. The chain inside of the cab is one piece. It is strung like a shoelace in the 6 holes and filled with glue gun glue. If the glue is heated, it becomes soft enough to remove the chain & they can be re-hung with a "drape" as in the prototype...Just be careful. It's very fragile. They are also silver now, as the prototype (PRSL). Kadee 820 body mount couplers have been added and an interior door.
The "grooved" wheels that once had the traction tire have been removed from both power trucks and replaced with solid wheels. NOTE the small "F" near the steps. This is located on the long roof front. Even if the RDC-1 looks the same front & back, all diesels have a "front" and, this is it.
Once again, I found myself changing out the windows on the RDC-1. I recently found some dark plexiglass (1/4 in thick) that closely mimics the Budd RDC-1 windows. In the center photo are the cut pieces ready to install. A ban saw with a fine blade was used to cut these strips slighty smalled than the original plastic film windows that fit into the track on the inside body. The new strips are glued to the inside window frame with Walther's "Goo" and clamped tight until dry. Added weight is about 4 oz. The 5 light bulbs for the interior lighting have been painted black because of the "Over" brightness. Added note: The original windows did show signs of disfigurement due to heat in the interior from these bulbs. A side number plate, roof vents and pod side vents, also were added. The vents are "Special Shapes" etched brass mesh cut to size, mounted on a copper sheet, sprayed chrome..
The tanks have been shortened and the boxes on the undercarriage have been arranged, as close as possible to the prototype.

On the Prototype M-410 the original "PR" logo is at the front of the RDC and, the "Cape May" logo is only at the rear. This decal was made on an ink jet printer using a photo of the CMSL's M-410's logo.
