The West Berlin Garden Railroad
Here is a Jersey Central RS3 (Aristo Craft) about to receive a Sierra sound system. I got pretty good at installing these babies. So far my Pennsy RS3, GP38, NW2 and a GP7 all sport these systems. It takes me about 2 hours to do. Each diesel is different, and planning what goes where doesn't happen until you've opened it up. In some cases it may take an hour just to do that.. I also install a volume and recharging port. It does recharge from track power but, it's nice to have that option..It's a GREAT SYSTEM.
Here is wishful thinking at it's best. A few years ago I scanned the Garden Railways cover (my favorite Large Scale Mag) and a picture of my old Bachmann #49  (now converted to battery power)at Kirkwood station..Looks good huh! Yea, I added the smoke with Photo Shop.
OTHER STUFF
Chloe, has been on the job well over 20 years. 10 of which has been as the "Track Inspector" on the West Berlin Garden Railroad. She  takes pride in her work and keeps all of those blasted squirrels and chipmunks away.  Here she's seen taking a little "cat nap"  (while on the job I might add) which happens more and more these days.
Sadly, on December 28 th, 2001, Chloe passed away after a brief illness. She will be missed by all on the WBGR.

Chloe, in the early years. This photo was taken in 1989. Every year I would put up a different Lionel set under the Christmas tree. Here she is seen walking with the train as it circles the tree. She loves trains as much as I do..
