CNJ PiggyBack Flat Car Renumbering
A single CNJ piggyback trailer flat, being pulled by a PRR 44 tonner, passes Kirwood Station..
Photo taken July 2003.
DDuring the summer of 2003 I purchased one of those Aristo ugly "Piggyback flats" in CNJ colors..
Why you ask?? Well, there just isn't a lot of CNJ stuff out there..(and it's a weird looking car... & I like weird  )
In January 2004, TrainWorld sent out an email offering a 5% additional discount on phone orders and, I notice (in their ad in GR) the closeout pricing on these cars...I called and got their LAST CNJ Piggyback.  The problem is that I would/will run them together and the trailer numbers really are noticeable AND the duplicate car would stick out..

I found that these labels "fit the bill" for making the number change easy.
I used automobile brake fluid to remove the orginal numbers (see my DOODLEBUG section on the Site Map)
I matched the blue use for the numbers and printed new ones for the trailers on my HP 3220 inkjet printer..

Top photo..Framed in orange, is how it arrived. (minus kadee's and metal wheels)

Next 2 photos..

The re-numbered trailers are switched so all Wharton & Northern are on 1 flat and the Central RR of Penn. are on another.
The dusty, but not that dirty twins, wait on a siding for pick up.
