When Melissa and Matt got engaged on 1-24-2006 we promised them an engagement Party/BBQ and that we would have it here.and I would run trains. They set the date for the party and sent out electronic "E-vites" to friends, family, and the wedding party. The total "Yes, I'll be there" replies were in the 40's and some NON-computer folks were invited by phone bring the total close to 60. The party started at 2pm and the street was packed with cars. Trains were running and the grill was cooking..
The weather then became a problem. After a long "nice weather" spell today was the start of the June rains.. No more April showers here in N.J!...They now come in June. During the next 4 days we saw 8.78 inches of rain. Like I said, I did have trains running for some entertainment. Thomas, for the kids, a Dash 9 and, the LGB bullet train for the adults. The LGB has how become the "Rain Train" of the West Berlin Garden Railroad. Two times the other engines were pulled from the tracks due to a shower but not the LGB. Even though there were a couple of retreats to the indoors I think everyone still had a good time. The party ended about 10..(I think) Since I was doing the BBQ-ing and running the trains, I took the pix when time permitted. I didn't get everyone's photo like: Brud and Eileen, Kim, Billy and Genny, Uncle Perry, Jamie, Jessica and Matt and many more. Sorry guys! There's always the wedding.. |
