The West Berlin Garden Railroad
The HIGH-LINE
Support post  and the top of the "High-Line".
Power and controls are located in the Storage building in the back of the picture.
The PRSL RDC and the "Eggliner" try out their new line. The Eggliner is pushin' and pullin' two LGB hoppers.
I feel that the RDC is just TOO long (32 inches) for the everyday garden layout. The SD-45 is just about 27 inches  and just about looks " OK " on 10ft. curves.  The average layout just doesn't have mega-feet of straight track or 20 ft.  curves to really run the RDC and have it look "right". I recently added, what we call a "High-Line" for the RDC. It's a point-to-point elevated line using Aristo's auto "Reversing Unit Set" ART-11090. The total lenght is 50 feet and it resides behind my "on-the-ground" garden railroad. I used 8 foot lengths of pressure treated deck boards for the deck, (track-bed). It's supported by "garden fencing" metal posts, with 6x6 inch wooden deck  pieces  supported by "L" brackets which are bolted to the posts. These supports are on every post. The posts are placed every 4 feet. All power and controls are located in my storage building.
