| You've seen my Garden Railroad and, you've seen the Hanging Cliffs RR in my rec-room now, we'll take another tour to a part of my house that I've kept secret from you until now. And, it doesn't have any trains in it. Before I retired I was employed as a Regional Telecommunications Director for a medical transcriptions company. I was responsible for the telephone systems (backbone of the biz) in the Southwestern region and traveled to many of those offices. Finding a good place to eat was always a problem. McDonald's was out of the question, even if I was on a limited expense account. The only time I ate "High on the Hog" was at a vendor's expense. I found out that there were 2 places that I could always count on good food and good prices.. IHOP (International House of Pancakes) and the Hard Rock Cafe. Being a "Rocker" from the 60's I really liked the feeling of the HRC. I always made it a point to eat and get the "City Shirt" from each city I visited. I also took many 35mm photos (before I went digital) of each HRC.. Some digitals do exist. One of the first projects I did after I retired in 2000 was to "re-create" the feel of the HRC in my home.. The project took me 2 months to complete the hard wood flooring, walls, painting and another month to have a custom HRC table and chairs made. This is also a place to "show off" my guitar collection, slot machine & gold records.. My HRC really is a den with a bath & a half.(also done in HRC style) The sofa in the HRC is a sleeper so, the den really is a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino JERSEY STYLE........Enjoy your visit! |
| This is a list of the HRC's that I have visited more than once: Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles(Beverly Center), Hollywood, Newport Beach, San Francisco (not pier 39) Atlantic City, & Philadelphia. The only city I visited NOT having a HRC was Kansas City, MO. I've also been to the HRC's in the Cayman Islands, Cancun & Cozumel. |
