Aristo Bay Window Tower Make Over |
![]() |
| This is built very much like the Aristo Craft church and it's BIG. ..Unlike the church, This building has plastic interior walls. The foam interior walls are covered making them about 1/4" thick. There is just more plastic everywhere. You can push your finger on a wall and it WON'T bend in like the church. There are working doors on both floors and the roof is removalble. Later Aristo plans on an interior. The windows are nicely trimed and are single pane..but look double. (It could be a nice warm little home for a chipmunk family SO, keep the doors closed ) It has 2 tanks located on the rear of the tower plus a non-working tool storage box. Nice detail everywhere. But looking at it for a day or 2 I realized it just wasn't right. I just had to make some changes.. |

| What looked dumb to me from the start was no window on the bottom front....All towers that I've seen have or had them. And REALLY dumb was the window under the stairs.. SO I moved it.. I cut it out and placed it in the front where it should be. Plastruct makes the same clapboard siding and I use it to replace the siding where the old window was.. The stairs are in the wrong place so I moved them.. I added additional trim and baywindow support brackets. The colors I selected was common in this area..I also cut off about 6 inches from the base..(note: the new stone that covers the base) |
| tThe window supports are wooden doll house "gingerbread".. I could have made them but I wanted something fancy...Mine would have been quickies.. About the colors.. Floquil "Depot Buff" & "Roof Brown".. The buff should lighten up a bit..I was gonna select a lighter color but in that place on the layout it would fade too light..After the summer my tower should look "right"... |
| II replaced the siding from under the door down..(old siding was removed) It's not just a patch over the old window opening. When I cut the opening for the window in front I had a "perfect fit" foam patch to fill the original window opening then I added the new siding over the foam wall. |
