Aristo's BLUE COMET
It's been a long wait for this "Re-issue/Upgraded"  version of the Blue Comet Pacific.....and now, us special order guys, HAVE IT.  I fell in love with the old Aristo version 4 years ago when I first saw it at a friend's house....... I was so glad that Lewis decided to make it again.. (There will be just 100 sets so I'm told) Again, as with the RDC, my expectations were just too high. Don't get me wrong here....I do LOVE it but it needed some "Tweaks"...

The above photo is the Blue Comet Pacific right from the box. (Jan. 18th, 2005)
All the wheels and drivers are now blue..,the grab irons, pipes are blue also, There is a front number board, the bell has been lowered and there are pipes coming down from the water heater. There also is return piping (?) on the top side of the water heater.. Now..IT DOES look like the Blue Comet ought to! The BC color match was Rust-oleum ROYAL BLUE #7727 in a rattle can followed by Testor's Dull-cote. This photo was taken  Jan. 20th, 2005 (the cow catcher has been lower and a modified Kadee coupler has been installed)

The only photos of the 3 BC Pacifics are in black & white and most likely taken by Jersey Central.. Railfanning didn't exist and color film and process was very dear. Only those who lived along the line in the 30's & 40's remember that it WAS blue..This photo on the right is a painting of the Blue Comet in Atlantic City that I found in color. I used it as my guide for my UPGRADE..

Aristo's BLUE COMET-tweaked
Here's a really short video of a quick run by with smoke.. The trailing car is a battery car with the new Aristo LI-ion battery and a 27mhz receiver..

The new BLUE COMET now sports a Phoenix sound system.. It's not just an "out of the box" version either.. It's a complete NEW mix.My thinking on this is:.
Do I want it to sound like every other Pacific? Answer: NOPE..
Is there sound footage of the real deal zipping to the shore?? I doubt it..

This was a special engine so it needed special sound so why not mix it?.
The mix is:
The whistle of the ACS2 card. The modified chuff from the 1361 card (mine has a much deeper chuff and rate) And a different hand rung bell. Here is a short video of the BC Whistle  blowin & chuggin by..
